Kuthiravattom Chira Toursim project, a joint venture of the Venmani grama panchayat of the Chengannur block and the District Tourism Promotion Council(DTPC), will be launched soon.. The project has been included in the DTPC’s `My Village Scheme’.

The 24-acre Kuthiravattom Chira project will be coming up in one of the high altitude regions of Alappuzha district. The Chira, which is part of the second ward of venmony grama panchayat, is surrounded by fresh water lakes on three sides. The implementation of the Rs 20-lakh project will be a part of the Kayamkulam Tourism Circuit project worth Rs 50 lakh. As part of the first phase, a camp site-cum-convention centre, huts, dwelling units and an open theatre will be constructed.The DTPC has already submitted a Rs 38-lakh project for the development of the Chira to the Union Government.
