Uthrittathi boat race and the feast for the oarsmen were ritualistic events rooted in the rich rustic tradition of Aranmula.
Palliyoda Seva Sanghom (PSS), said that the snake boat race to be held as part of the annual regatta would be in traditional style. The rhythmic ‘Vechupattu' will accompany the rowing of snake boats in the first leg of the race. The snakeboats (palliyodams) that finishes the race in the lowest time frame will be selected for the final race.
the snakeboat that finishes first would be presented the Mannam Trophy.
