The canals and the harbour were designed under his supervision. He made Alappuzha port one of the busiest ports in his times and the region became the commercial capital of the erstwhile State of Travancore
The Main Central Road (MC Road) which is an important State Highway starting from Kesavadasapuram in Trivandrum city and ends at Angamaly near ernakulam /kochi was constructed at the time when Raja Kesavadas was the Dewan of Travancore.
