Pathiramanal is an island on Vembanad Lake in kerala.
The island has recorded the presence of 176 species of plants. Of this, 166 are flowering ones and 10 are ferns. includes some rare plants like Mucuna giganttea, a large climber found in isolated localities of Kerala, and Flagellaria indica.
The fauna discoverd include 24 species of dragonflies and damselflies, 23 species of spiders, 34 species of butterflies, 88 species of birds, 58 species of fishes and seven species of reptiles. Some threatened species like Oriental darter, Indian rock python and smooth-coated otter have also been found.
