chettikulangara kettukazcha

The gigantic structures including 'kuthira' (horse motifs), theru (chariots) and mammoth idols of Bheema, Panchali and Hanuman were arranged on the ground in the evening for the 'kettukazhcha' (display) attracting devotees from far-flung areas .


 

The kettukazha consists of
six forms of temple carts called kuthiras about 100 feet high
five chariots ( theru)
icons of lord hanuman , bheema.

The kettukazcha is arranged by the following karas ( hamlets)

eerezha north - kuthira

eerezha south - kuthira
kaitha north - kuthira
kaitha south - kuthira
kannamangalam north- theru
kannamangalam south - theru
pela- kuthira
kadavoor -theru
anjilappra - theru
mattam north- bheema
mattam south - hanuman panchali
menampilly- theru
nadakkavu -kuthira
